Destinations / Foefie sliding in Mpumalanga![]() Foefie sliding in Mpumalanga is fun, fast and furious and quite safe for anyone with the nerve to try it. You don’t need any special athletic skills or to be Iron Man-fit, you just need a little courage. Experienced guides will give you step-by-step instructions before you climb up a 55m-high platform (take time to admire the gorgeous view). You are then strapped into a harness and hooked up to a 450m-long zipline. Now, hold your breath – don’t close your eyes – leap over the edge, and away you go, hurtling down the cable at 90km/h. At the end of that exhilarating foefie slide you’ll feel on top of the world. Induna Adventures, where you'll do your foefie sliding, is in the Sabie River Valley, on the Panorama Route in the Mpumalanga province, so you'll find spectacular natural attractions nearby – from God's Window to the Kruger National Park. If the foefie slide has fired your adrenal glands and you're in need of even more high-octane thrills, then Induna Adventures can take you geckoing (white water tubing), rafting, mountain biking, abseiling, kayaking or bass fishing. Go in a group, go alone or opt for an adventure combo for 2 that includes horse-riding, quad biking, rafting and, of course, foefie sliding. Foefie slides or zip slides are sometimes also called flying foxes, and there are more outside of Mpumalanga if you get addicted. If you can't face the bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge in the Western Cape (the highest bungee in the world), then opt for the flying fox. And if you're ever in the vicinity of Sun City, in the North West province, then try tackle the biggest foefie slide of all – 280m-high and 2km-long. |
